KGEB History

Oral Roberts, one of the pioneers of television evangelism, and founder of Oral Roberts University; has touched millions of people around the world for decades through television and radio.

Part of his vision to provide quality Christian programming was fulfilled on January 24, 1996. KWMJ TV-53 went on the air with 24 hour “Family Safe” programming.

November 29, 1999; KWMJ TV-53 Tulsa became KGEB TV-53 Tulsa, becoming the flagship station of the Golden Eagle Broadcasting (GEB) Network.

Housed on the ORU campus in Tulsa, KGEB is helping to fulfill one of the tenets of ORU to “go into every person’s world”.

KGEB provides a diverse and interesting body of choices. Watch some of the best Christian teachers such as Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Richard and Lindsay Roberts of Oral Roberts Ministries. Local churches and mega churches like Victory Christian Center with Pastors Billy Joe and Sharon Daugherty, Rhema Bible Church with Pastor Kenneth Hagin Jr., and World Outreach Church with Pastor Mark Brazee.

Every weekday afternoon there is a break in the day with KidZone – a time just for our youngest viewers. Saturdays provide everything from inspirational movies to home improvement with a late night block of shows just for teens and young adults. KGEB is Family Safe® television to help you in your daily living.
